The 91ÖÆƬ³§Mentoring Program is for anyone working in school libraries looking to improve their practice, jump-start their learning, share their expertise and build meaningful connections - from early-career school library staff to experienced school library practitioners.

The 91ÖÆƬ³§Mentoring Program is facilitated by Dr. Nancy Pavisich - a leadership consultant with a Ph.D. in mentoring and a Master’s Degree in leadership, and establishes reciprocal and collaborative mentoring relationships, based on two-way learning that is mutually enriching for both mentor and mentee.

Whether you’re an established professional or just beginning your journey, the 91ÖÆƬ³§mentoring program could be the next step you need to take in your school library career.

&²Ô²ú²õ±è;The Program begins with a compulsory 3 hour training session. Participants will select which of the two sessions available (AM or PM) to attend when registering.

The training session will cover:

â—‹ Time commitment

â—‹ Difference between mentoring/coaching

â—‹ Characteristics of mentors and mentees

â—‹ Establishing expectations

â—‹ How to run a quality mentoring conversation (What does it look/sound/feel like?)

&²Ô²ú²õ±è;On completion of the training session, you will be sent the 91ÖÆƬ³§mentoring booklet, which further outlines the program and also contains the agreement form each participant is required to sign. Pairing will be completed and each pair will receive joint notification via the nominated email addresses.

&²Ô²ú²õ±è;Quarterly feedback sessions are held with the Mentor Program facilitators.

 Participants will be provided with a certificate upon successful completion of the Program.

PLEASE NOTE:

¹Ë…  The 91ÖÆƬ³§Mentoring Program is an exclusive benefit available to current 91ÖÆƬ³§Members (including bundle members) and participants are expected to maintain an active membership status for the duration of the Program

¹Ë…  The initial training session is compulsory - non-attendance means that you are ineligible to continue with the Program

¹Ë…  Participants can choose to be a mentee and/or a mentor - though depending on numbers, we may not be able to accommodate you for both

¹Ë…  Participants are expected to engage in short quarterly feedback sessions with the Mentor Program facilitator/s

¹Ë…  It is not always possible to match participants based on school region/state/library size/LMS/school type. We suggest an open attitude to the match as there's lots to be learned from those in different situations
